The Zadge and Pug Mama had to travel to Florence, Colorado for the Top Secret Day job yesterday. Florence is a tiny little Western town about two hours south of Denver. Once the Zadge and her sidekick were done with their Official Business, they hit the antique stores that Florence is famous for.
They were mad ‘tiquing, is what they were. They were oohing and aahing over all the cool stuff they saw. And oh, did our girls make out like bandits. Not with each other, Hulk. Made out, like found tons of cool stuff.
Every wonder what the Zadge would look like as a Victorian Lady?
That dress was worn around the same time that Old Vicky was built, 1896. They were some tiny folk back in the 1800s. Old Zadgey wouldn’t be able to fit one of her arms in those sleeves.
She named him “Joe” and plans to hang him in The Chart House/Photo Studio/Girlz Clubhouse, which will be finished next week, by the way.
She also fell in love with this little girl’s saddle so she bought that too for The Chart House:
Notice the wagging tail – the hounds were all over the steer skull and the saddle the minute Zadge walked in the door. As someone would clearly consider them chew toys, they are safely put away for now.
Milton got a kick out of the City Slicker Zadge, who didn’t know what anything was in the shop. Thank god PugMama, an accomplished horsewoman, was there to explain tacks, and bits, and Western vs. English saddles.
Oh, and she saw this hanging on a wall and thought it would be cool to hang on the brick in the Chart House :
PugMama had to explain to her that it was a vintage horse bit and the Zadge was all worried about why they would put metal in a horse’s mouth and how it might hurt their teeth and PugMama just looked at her with astonishment at how utterly lacking in any Western Horse Savvy the Zadge was.
The Zadge decided that everyone in the 1800s was very small and very unhappy, judging by the photos. Perhaps living on the prairie without any electricity and no Whole Foods does both of those things to you.
So the Zadge is very happy that the Chart House is almost finished. And she’s planning a party to celebrate. Stay tuned!
